Green Above Ground has submitted a proposal for the further implementation of the City of Portland’s ‘Grey to Green Initiative‘ (G2G). The proposal asks for design-build teams that will further support G2G by marketing and supplying up ecoroofs for particular . Read more about this from a recent DJC Article, which mentions that “…the city will hire a contracting team to find buildings suitable for eco-roofs, convince the building owners to allow them, and then design and build the roof systems. For $150,000, the contract will guarantee 30,000 square feet of eco-roofs.” Our core team of Snyder Roofing of Oregon, Teufel Landscape, and TERRA.fluxus are complemented by Cascade Design Professionals for structural evaluation and engineering, and Verde to facilitate job creation, training, and outreach. Our goal is to expand the reach of ecoroofs to communities that are currently underserved, while promoting use of M/W/ESB subcontractors and professional services firms.
Our Green Above Ground site showcases a number of projects completed by individual team members, many of which have been collective efforts working to grow the square footage and impact of ecoroofs throughout our region. Current design-build endeavors include work one the BPA 905 Building, and buildings at Oregon Health Sciences University. The design-build effort of Green Above Ground spawned from a working relationship on many past projects, driven by the industry demand for a simplified approach to marketing and delivering vegetated roofing projects.
Some of the notable current and past collaborations of our core team members include:
- Portland Building Ecoroof (Snyder, Teufel, Jason King**)
- First + Main Office Building (Snyder, Teufel, Jason King*)
- Encore Condominums (Snyder, Teufel, Jason King*)
- Lovejoy Block 2 (Snyder, Teufel)
- Machineworks (Snyder, Teufel)
- 12th & Washington (Synder, Teufel)
- The Allison (Snyder, Teufel)
- Ladd Tower (Snyder, Teufel)
- Mead Building (Snyder, Teufel)
- Multnomah County Central Library (Snyder, Teufel)
